Boho & Brights at Sherwood Glade

We adore styled shoots, and this one in particular was one on my favourites!
We really do love all things boho, but if I’m being honest we had started to feel a bit over seeing the same peach and ivory tones, with terracotta accessories. There is so much you can do with the boho theme. So we thought let’s get a bit quirky with tonnes of Boho, Brights, smoke bombs and a horsey edition named Brian! I just knew this would be a wonderfully quirky combination for our Styled Shoot at the stunning Sherwood Glade- a woodland tipi venue just outside of Nottingham!
Decoris Weddings and Events

teamed up with LB Photography and so many other amazing suppliers to create this exciting, colourful shoot. Although not intentional we were an all female team! We thought that was pretty cool! #girlpower
The brief we supplied to the everyone was simple! Loads of colour AND don’t hold back!! This wonderful group of ladies did not disappoint!
On the day of the shoot after 2 weeks of boiling hot days, it decided to rain……..all day!
We didn’t let that dampen our spirits, and the beautiful bright colours quickly made us forget about the great British weather!
We decided to keep the majority of the shoot outside and utilise the fantastic woodland- we couldn’t feel the rain though the thick trees, and although Brian was well behaved we didn’t think having a horse in a tipi would be the best idea!
For the aisle we dressed the benches with colourful rag rugs, and pink and blue sheepskin throws. The aisle ends were highlighted with shepherd hooks displaying lanterns, and ribbons, with fabulous floral meadow scapes by Thistle&Phlox. The end of the aisle was framed perfectly with the colourfully decorated Arwen arch by Beautiful Arches.
Our models for the shoot were Kay Brown who partnered with a handsome stallion named Brian! , and Beth from Thistle & Phlox, along with her willing husband Marc.
The stunning dresses were custom made for this shoot by the amazingly talented Sam from Ryley and Flynn, with hair by Jaye Woodall, make up by Louise A’Ness, accessories by IDoWeddinngs and a show stopping floral headpiece from Thistle&Phlox we hope you agree the finished looks were beautiful!
The deliciously yummy cakes were created by Irenka from Cakes by the Park one of which sat stylishly on a custom cake swing designed by us, and along with the models rustic swing was lovingly built by Steve our official handyman for all our custom builds.
We split the shoot into phases. Beth and Marc were up first, and the photos from this section of the shoot are more relatable to a couples real wedding. From then well… it gets weirder! A stallion walking down the aisle, cakes hanging from trees, and a quirky abandoned table in the woods! It was a day full of fun, creativity and laughter. My personal highlight was when Brian the stallion sneezed and our Model, Kay ran for her life, leaving Brian to bolt down the aisle - Leanne from LB Photography captured some hilarious outtakes!
The colours in the decor, florals, and cakes styled with gorgeously boho dresses and accessories all framed against the woodsy wilderness brought to life our bright bohemian vision, and the whole day was captured by the very talented Bronte from TinBox Memories. You can watch the stunning video she captured of the day here https://youtu.be/hAe0CVyh0no on our You Tube Channel.
